This is not my typical post, but many of us are working on or are supposed to be working on books for the Lord and we write and write and write but then when it comes time to publish, we don't always know what the next steps are. So I thought I would share what happened to me today.

I have been writing like crazy working on finishing The Wilderness Companion. In looking around, I also decided to hire professionals to create a custom cover. I didn't want to break the bank, but I wanted something that didn't look like I did it all myself (I know you guys know what I mean by that). I don't want my book going out looking like I wrote the whole thing with crayons.

So, I began with the service that publishes, but they said four to six weeks minimum just for a cover and hundreds of dollars. I looked at trying to do it myself again. No, I'm not gifted that way. I texted and emailed all my friends and kept researching and then.............BING !!!

I found an incredible service that says they can get me two cover designs to look at in 24 HOURS for under $100 -  ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

But the BEST PART is this company is owned by a Christian (the website doesn't say that, yall!) and he is the nicest person ever. I know there are many of you who know you are supposed to be writing a book but you have no idea how to get started. Well, let me help you out here. Just start. Just start putting the words down on paper. You can find inexpensive (and sometimes free) services to help with the other stuff. This site offers an editing and submission service if you're interested in getting the big publishers to look at your book. They are also adding more services as I write this. They have a whole team of designers to help us get what the Lord is giving us out there to the people where it needs to be.
