This blog is about walking through through the desert periods of our lives. I call it walking through the wilderness. God sometimes leads His children through a wilderness experience to get them to something higher. The wilderness is a terrifying place, a place where comfort is hard to find, provision is scarce, where nothing is certain. Nothing, that is, except Him.

Book is Done ! Waiting on Finalized Cover

I am happy to announce that The Wilderness Companion is finally completed! I have ordered the finalized cover from the designer, and will have it in the next 24 hours. It will take probably another week (maybe less) to get a proof copy in the mail before the book can be made available for purchase.

I will be talking about what is in the book tonight on Straight Talk.

Down to Correcting Typos - Nearly Done!

The Wilderness Companion is nearly done, the formatting is taking longer than I expected! The Lord actually said the book was "done" a few weeks back, but I want it to be as nice as possible when it is released. Am correcting final typos this morning and ordering finalized cover.

I still have to order a proof copy and approve it before they will allow it to be released, but am expediting it as much as possible.

Thanks everyone for your patience - many have expressed an interest in the book, and through months of long nights writing, your encouragement spurred me to keep pushing through until it was completed. God bless all of you!

Pre-Release Review of The Wilderness Companion

The Wilderness Companion will be released next week and available for purchase.  I will post a link here on the blog for those who wish to order a copy. I am really excited about comments and feedback I've gotten from friends who have kindly read over it ahead of time for me, and to my Editor for editing. Without his help, this book would not be what it is.

Thank you, Brian, for your unselfish service to God's people and to your fellow servant.

Here is the first pre-release review:

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” (Mat 11:12) Have you ever wondered what this “violent force” looks like? The Wilderness Companion is the living example of such violence lived out. This book is about the violent seizure of the Kingdom of God, and the events that surround refusing to let go at any cost.

I believe this book is essential in preparing you for your own wilderness journeys. It is a straightforward and honest look at real experiences in the wilderness in all of its humanity and spirituality.  It is commonly said, “Experience is the best teacher”, but I tell you, “Other people’s experiences are the best instruction, but you still have to do the lesson!”  Wise counsel and encouragement in your journey await you in this book of the events of the wilderness experiences of Glynda Lomax.

The founders of the Biosphere projects in the Arizona desert set out to create the perfect ecosystem for natural life to thrive and be studied. A curious thing happened in the decades that followed, as healthy trees growing in ideal conditions began to fall over by themselves. Though the trees had no disease and grew remarkably faster than their wild counterparts, because they had no wind in their protected environment, they became top-heavy and never developed roots.

The winds of change are blowing across America and the world. Right now the Spirit of God is readying the people of God, because a storm is coming. This book is a tool in God’s hand to speak into your wilderness experience, and to “flesh out” an example of what a wilderness experience looks and feels like in our modern world. The focus of this book is not upon Glynda or her struggles, not even on what good spiritual fruit it produces, but on our Wilderness Companion: the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

Many Will Not Heed the Warnings - A Word the Lord Spoke to Me in July 2009

Another word I found while going through the journals for the book.

Indeed My judgments are falling in the earth now. Many seemingly "natural" disasters shall occur as well as famines and plagues. I desire you to be safe from these so I will warn you as they approach so you may warn others and be prepared yourself.

Realize many will not heed the warnings you give them. They will not believe I have spoken to you and will perish as a result. You cannot prevent this and it will not be your fault when it happens though many may try to blame you.

So Many Words, Communion, Dark Times and the Road of Compromise

As I spend hours and hours each night going back through boxes of journals to write the story of my wilderness journeys, I continue coming across so many words the Lord spoke to me for His people before I ever understood how to get the words out. I just found another one tonight. By the time I received this word in early October 2009, I had begun making videos and putting them out on YouTube, but I don't remember if I ever released this word.

When the Lord spoke this word to me, I had been taking communion every day and this was the 7th day.

So few truly reverence His (Jesus') suffering and that is a very grave sin in My eyes for I shall hold them accountable for this on the day of judgment! I send angels to attend you as you honor His sacrifice with communion each day.

Indeed you are feeling changes coming in the spiritual realm, My child, for great turmoil is coming to the earth soon and the angels are preparing. The angels of darkness prepare because it is a time when they will deceive many, My angels because I send them to assist My chosen ones.

In these last days it will become commonplace for My chosen to see their angels assisting them for I desire My children to know they are strengthened from on high, that they do not fight the great war alone.

All direction shall come from Me in the dark time to come for what was once reliable in the earth shall no more be reliable. What once seemed safe shall be shown to be a lie and only those who truly know Me shall truly survive and prosper. The deception of the enemy shall appear very real to those who do not believe and to those who do not walk closely with Me. The key is listening, comparing and discerning. Believers compare everything to My word. Unbelievers do not. They compare everything to the knowledge contained in their earthly minds and this will not save them.

I was praying for someone I knew who was going through some hard experiences and it appeared would choose the harder path instead of turning to the righteous path. The Lord spoke this to me:

Tell My children I do not desire that they choose the hard way of learning but My hand will not stop them from that road. The enemy always waits on the road of compromise and blessings are lost as one travels that way. Many times I am blamed for their misfortune later on when they were given warning after warning and refused to listen to My counsel, considering only the wisdom of their own way in their eyes, not seeing the enemy advance towards them through Mine.

Lord, please help us to have the wisdom to choose the righteous paths so we do not have to learn everything the hard way.

Wandering in the Desert

The one thing that strikes me most as I mentally walk back through the wilderness journeys I have taken over the last ten plus years, is how like the Israelites of the Exodus I find I am.

As they traveled through terrain none of us would likely even survive, they complained there was no water. After three days of walking in the scorching desert heat, I too would have found myself complaining. Going back through so many journals, I find I have, in many cases, complained over far less.

They found themselves blaming those near them and those in charge when things did not work out the way they envisioned. I also have been guilty of blaming others for what I brought upon myself. They found only bitterness in the waters of Marah. How many of us, while stumbling through our desert experiences, also began to sense the ugly root of bitterness rising up in our souls? Did we cling to it and bemoan our disappointments? Do we still cling to it today? Or did we allow the Lord to cast His word into it and turn the bitter waters sweet, bringing us back to a place of contentment in Him where we can both abase and abound?

Over and over, the Lord told them how to obey and be blessed. Over and over, they fell into sin, seeking some small comfort in that barren place in the darkness of their souls where no comfort could be found. God has spoken so many promises to us, promises through His word but also promises for us personally, showing us what lies ahead if we will obey Him. Many mistakenly think they can walk into their destiny no matter how they act, but God is the same yesterday, today and forever and there are conditions to receiving great blessings, He requires our obedience to receive great destinies from Him.

The story of the Exodus in the Bible is there for our edification and our instruction. It is there that we may learn from the long desert journey of others like us who, though they lived many centuries before us, were as much like us as if they were our next door neighbors. They too trekked through life's difficult places on their way to something better the Lord had promised them. They ate, slept, loved, laughed and mourned just as we do. They are not cardboard people from long ago but actual living beings that lived out the story we read today.

It is a difficult process seeing the many times I have failed to react as I should have, the many times I did not do what I was told to do, the many times where I got off course.

And I can't help wondering where I am now in my journey, and whether I will, at some point, be allowed to cross the Jordan and defeat the giants that have for so long plagued me, or if I will be left on the other side wandering in the desert, wondering what might have been.
